The Youth, Digital Devices, Mental Health and Online Income

 

          I had the privilege of speaking in 3 barangays for the Linggo ng Kabataan the past two weeks, courtesy of the Sangguniang Kabataan Councils of Barangays Cawayan led by SK Chairperson Jeffrey N. Abane,  Nagotgot led by SK Federation President Ricca A. Balbalosa, and Buyo led by SK Chairperson Katrin L. Arnaldo.

          The theme for this year's Linggo ng Kabataan is "From Click to Progress:  Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development".  

          It is always difficult to gather young people in events that are not sports, party, or financial assistance-related, so I really appreciate the efforts and creativity of these SK councils for successfully conducting these short seminars.  May we all not get tired of supporting our youth, especially when they act in concert for worthy pursuits.  

          Special mention is also due to the teachers and staff of Nagotgot High School led by school principal Ma'am Jenny Datu-Atule who were very warm and welcoming.  They also hosted a feeding program for the student attendees in NHS.

          And lest I forget, a big thanks is also due to my unpaid personal assistant, Nerissa and to God for the opportunity and guidance.
