"Vincent" Cover: You took your life as lovers often do...
And when no hope was left in sight on that starry, starry night
You took your life as lovers often do...
Here's a song cover about one of my favorite artists (Vincent Van Gogh), written and originally sung by one of my favorite musicians (Don Mclean).
To relieve the video of my boring singing, I double-tracked the music and made the second track stand out at certain points so I would sound like I was singing with myself. Vincent seemed to live his life living and painting with himself until he sadly didn't see a point in moving forward.
Vincent has always fascinated so many of us. He was the son of a minister who turned to art after failing as a missionary. He was deemed to have interpreted the Bible so literally, especially the teachings on helping and living with the poor miners in Belgium. Modern references say he was bipolar. At one point he felt only his brother Theo loved and supported him.
The image of Vincent on his death bed is a drawing I based on Paul Gachet's (Vincent's doctor) work.
