Apolinario Mabini: Talino at Paninindigan
As we continue to stay at home, may I encourage you to add documentaries like this to your list of movies or videos.
Mabini was so incisive that he has written about Philippine ills we still see among our politicians and in our society at present.
It's a 40-minute video produced by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) but it's much shorter than several episodes of our favorite Netflix series. If we can write and recommend reviews of our Netflix faves then surely we can also sit and watch this.
I'm sure you've been watching tear-jerkers the past weeks. This is what a tear-jerker looks like for me -- not induced by well-crafted dialogues nor award-winning cinematography, but by real-life fervor.
(not quoted in the docu but can be inferred)
To my former students in History and Ethics, watch this. Tandaan natin: there is no true learning when there is no application.
